Diksha Dagar joins Tvesa Malik at Italian Open on LET | Golf news

PIEDMONT (Italy): The Indians Diksha Dagar and Astha Madan will make their first start of the year by competing this week in the Women’s Italian Open at Golf Club Margara.
Diksha and Astha will join Tvesa Malik, who already played at the opening event in South Africa last week. This is the second event in the LET program this season.
The last time the Ladies European Tour arrived in Italy seven years ago, none of the Indian trios had turned professional.
Tvesa got off to an encouraging start in South Africa finishing 23rd, while Dagar is a former winner in South Africa. Astha, a regular on the Indian domestic circuit, is looking to establish herself in Europe.
It has been seven years since the Tour last arrived in Italy and all eyes will be on Piedmont to see who emerges as the winner.
In 2014 England’s Florentyna Parker was crowned the Perugia Club champion when she claimed a one-stroke victory. He was an albatross on the 14th hole of the final round, which allowed Parker to finish seven under par for the tournament. It was her second victory over LET as she edged out compatriot Holly Clyburn.
This year’s tournament will be the 25th edition of the Ladies Italian Open, which was first held on the LET in 1987 when Laura Davies claimed victory and the English legend has taken four victories in Italy over the years.
Some of the well-known stars in the field include Christine Wolf, Becky Morgan, Caroline Hedwall, Amy Boulden, Alice Hewson, Marianne Skarpnord, Camille Chevalier and Liz Young.
