BROUSSARD, La. (KLFY) – For three weeks, a Hampton Inn in Broussard has been dealing with a loss of customers due to a lack of water and water pressure.
Deputy General Manager Casie said: “We have had more and more water issues over the past two months, especially over the past three weeks. The pressure is practically non-existent at this point. It’s been a gradual drop from good pressure to pretty nice pressure to absolutely no pressure so you can’t even flush the toilet.
Casie said when the water was running it had been brown in color for a few weeks. The lack of water resulted in a loss of customers at the hotel.
“Guests don’t really want to stay somewhere that doesn’t have their basic necessities like water. And it’s also been difficult for our team, especially when we have a lot of people we call, like plumbing, only to find out it’s a city issue,” Casie said.
Broussard’s director of public works said the city has been in contact with the hotel regarding the issues.
Director of Public Works Mel Bertrand said: ‘We received a call from them a few weeks ago and, as we do with anyone in our system, we responded to it immediately. We have gone out and investigated, we have a plan in motion to rectify their situation. We have ordered some hardware which should be delivered tomorrow morning and we expect to fix this issue tomorrow. If we receive a call, we answer it immediately.
Bertrand told News 10 that they have seen an increase in problems due to the city growing so rapidly. He also added that their goal is to immediately respond to complaints.
